POPIA GORENG, CENGKODOK DURIAN & KACANG KUDA REBUS
Wanted to try something new but too lazy..ended up making popia goreng, cucur durian and kacang kuda rebus for our minum-minum petang. They are all the result of a little bit this and a little bit that of raw materials in the fridge. So just feast your eyes upon all these treats..

POPIA GORENG
Bahan2:
Kulit popia secukupnya
Sengkuang, diparut memanjang
Carrot, diparut memanjang
Kacang panjang, dipotong halus
Udang Kering, direndam dan dicincang
Bawang putih, dicincang
1 biji telur
Garam dan gula secukup rasa
Cara2:
1. Tumiskan bwg putih sehingga agak garing, masukkan udang kering. Kacau dan masukkan kacang panjang, carrot dan sengkuang mengikut turutan.
2. Perasakan dgn garam dan gula.
3. Masih dalam kuali yg sama, buat kolam di tengah2 sayuran tadi dan pecahkan telur. Scramble kan telur hingga garing. Kemudian gaulkan dgn semua sayuran. Jgn terlalu lama dikuali. Biarkan sejuk seketika, siap utk digulung dan digoreng.


Went to SIL/MIL house last Sunday and came back with durians..We really had enough with the fresh one from the fruit itself there and at home, that I decided to make cengkodok with the durians that MIL tapao in a container. Been sitting in the fridge and before it gets rotten, I`d better do something about it..
Here I`d like to share the way I make my cengkodok..applicable to any cengkodok especially cengkodok pisang. Some may find it hard to get a crispy outer side of it but with soft texture inside. What I do is, I use self-raising flour...NOT mixing baking powder or soda bicarbonate into the multi-purpose flour like many would do. It`ll give two different results. If you use the rising agent..you may get a kind of weird smell of the cengkodok but not with the self raising flour. Instead, you`ll get even fragrant and aromatic smell.
So, basically all you need is:
Self raising flour
Multipurpose flour (Tepung Gandum)
Pisang, Durian, Sukun or any other
Sugar
Salt
Water
The ratio of self raising flour and multi-purpose flour is half - half..But a little bit more self raising flour is recommended. On top of that, you`ll get a really round shape of cengkodok even if you don`t "jemput" the batter with the tips of your fingers. Just scoop into the oil using spoon . But one reminder, you need to always on the look out coz this cengkodok will get brownish very fast and the cengkodok will float at the surface so as to alert you to invert them.. :->


Kacang kuda tu rebus ajerlaaa. Taruk garam secukup masin dan bubuh biji sawi and daun kari bagi wangi...Rebus sampai empuk, done!! :-D

Tak tau ler pulak ianya cekodok..Kakrinn sorang jer kot pepandai tambah..ng..Rajin le cak ni menyambal kacang kuda. Bab muffin tu mmg lebih kurang carrot slice cuma muffin ni lebih cakey sikit. Carrot slice tu heavy lagi rich..ditambah dgn topping cheese..sihat terus!!

Jgn lupa sapu sos cili dulu sebelum bubuh inti dan gulung. Kali ni maleh nak tunjuk cara... :-) Nak mkn pun tenyeh lagi ngan sos LOL

18.jeff : Aiseyman, sorry la jeff..rinn pun kurang pasti macamana nak maintain kerangupan popia tu sbb sebenornya rinn lebih suka makan popia basah. Popia basah tu belum belajar lagi cara nak buat kulitnya, so beli aje lah kat psr mlm. Popia goreng tu sbb kulitnya ada yg readymade..tinggal goreng aje. So, the best way is to eat immediately selepas digoreng... ;-) Tapi, kalau popia mini inti serunding tu haaaa...maintain ranguuuuup 8-)
